What frustrates you the most, working in environmental films?
The debate. There should be no debate about the importance of the environment, because without it we wouldn’t exist. Pushback from people who continue to ignore the reality that we are the only ones responsible for the health of the environment. It’s through our actions, be them good or bad, that rests the fate of our species. Having to constantly sell people, through making films, the notion of environmentalism can be at times a frustrating and demoralizing process. But, without a fight there is really no reason to make films like we do. Take Action Films was born out of my frustration about the lack of social and environmental programming that would inspire people to take a second look at their lives in an effort to help improve the world we all live in. Over the past ten years, and after making half a dozen films that have been shown around the world, it’s the little things that continue to inspire me. Like hearing from you, my audience about your victories and how a film has touched your life.
