Why We Love Them: “When an activity raises threats of harm to human health or their environment, precautionary measures should be taken even if some cause and effect relationships are not fully established scientifically.” The Maryland Pesticide Network’s principle tackles one of the major issues with the fight against pesticide use, that it is exceedingly difficult to draw a direct link between the use of these chemicals and the harm they could be causing. We love their perspective on this issue, recognizing that it is better to be safe than sorry in cases like these, when it comes to potentially life-threatening illnesses and irreversible impacts on our environment. This organization aims to bring people together from all walks of life with the goals of educating and asking the important questions so that we can move forward in creating a safe environment for all.
